The trip began in Jordan.  We flew into Amman and crossed the Jordan River into the West Bank.  On our return trip we visited Madaba, Mt. Nebo, and Jerash in transit to Amman.

To see pictures of Amman, Madaba (the city near Mt. Nebo) and Jerash, visit the website of the Jordanian government.

The Jabok River (upper left) is the traditional site where Jacob wrestled with the angel before returning to Canaan after his long service to Laban in the east.

Traditionally, Moses is supposed to have looked into the land of Canaan from Mt. Nebo, the scene shown in the picture above.  A church commemorating the site contains the mosaic shown at left.
