One of the keys to understanding the prophets is understanding the historical situation they were trying to address.  While prophets develop themes and ideas that transcend the particular, grasping the meaning of those themes and ideas depends on recognizing the specific historical context.  The following chart is designed to encourage you to connect the prophets to the concrete situation that they addressed.
