Comparing Covenants
This exercise is designed to help students recognize that
the Hebrew Bible is shaped by two competing views of the covenant relationship
between the Israelite/Jewish people and their God. These competing views
grow out of different historical/social/political settings. Some texts
present them as in opposition to one another while others attempt to combine the
two or to draw elements from each.
