Brief course description: A survey of the structure and function of the human circulatory, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and endocrine, and reproductive systems.  Laboratory work involves examination of models, experimental procedures, and mammalian dissections.

Course Objectives:

1.      To familiarize students with the hierarchical arrangement of the human body, from cells to systems.

2.      To familiarize students with structures and functions of the following human systems: circulatory, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and endocrine, and reproductive systems.

3.      In the laboratory, to examine each system from the level of the cell (through histology) to the system.

Attendance Policy:

Attendance at all exams and laboratories is mandatory.  Only valid excuses corroborated by written evidence (from a doctor, etc.) will be considered for make-up exams.  There will be no make up labs.  An unexcused missed exam will be scored as a 0, and an unexcused missed lab will result in a 0 for the daily quiz and a 10% reduction in the Lab Workbook/Procedures grade.

Cheating:

Any student caught cheating on an exam or quiz will receive a failing grade for the course.
