Overdue Fines

• Fines for books are $.10 per item per day. 
• Fines for recalled books are $1.00 per item per day.
• Fines for reserves are $1.00 per item per hour.
• Fines for videotapes and DVDs are $1.00 per item per day.
• Fines for laptops are $5.00 per hour.

Patrons will not be allowed to check out other library materials until all fines are paid.

• Considered lost.  A bill will be sent for $65.00 (replacement cost of $40.00 plus a $25.00 processing fee).
• Items returned after a bill is sent will be adjusted to reflect late fees.
• Laptops which are lost or damaged will result in a $1,600.00 replacement fee.

• If any materials which are checked out to you have become lost, damaged, or stolen, please see the Circulation Coordinator in the library for details on replacing these items. You will be responsible for paying the estimated replacement cost plus processing fee, but will not be charged late fees if arrangements are made before the item is due back in the library.

• It is the patron’s responsibility to know when library materials are due and what fines may be assessed. Overdue notices are sent via Maryville College e-mail, and are a courtesy extended by the library. Non-receipt of notices does not relieve patrons of their responsibility.
