Reserve Policy

Instructors may place library books, photocopies, and personal materials on reserve for students; materials will be filed behind the Circulation Desk.   It is the responsibility of the instructor to bring these materials to the Circulation Coordinator for processing no later than two business days before readings are assigned.  Materials will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

A completed reserve request form (click and print) must accompany materials being placed on reserve.

Library Books -- Please retrieve these from the main stacks.  
  • Your reserve list will show the title and call number of the book as it appears in the library catalog.

Photocopies --Place one copy of each title on reserve, unless you have more than one section of a class.

  • List the title of the article as it appears on your syllabus.

  • Include the proper reference or citation for the work (i.e., MLA, APA, etc.).

  • Copyright compliance is the responsibility of the instructor.

 

Personal Copies -- We will affix removable date due and identification labels to personal materials.
  • List the title of your personal item as it appears on your syllabus.

Loan Periods

  • Two hours, in-library use only

  • Overnight: Two-hour use during the day; may leave the library one hour before closing until one hour after opening the next day

  • 48 hours

Once materials have been processed you will be able to view them on the McQuest website.
Reserve materials will be removed from the shelves at the end of finals week each semester and returned to department secretaries and library stacks unless other arrangements are made in advance.
