Nonprofit and Charitable Organizations

Guidestar's goal is to facilitate access to information about the operations and finances of nonprofit organizations. The database includes all organizations listed in the IRS Business Master File (BMF).  The information in the Guidestar database comes from information submitted from the organization and from the organization's Form 990 that is submitted to the IRS.  Reports include information on mission and goals, programs, financials, and board members.  Links to the organization's Web page are included. Free registration for use of the site is required.

The Better Business Bureau's Give.org  http://www.give.org/reports/index.asp 
This site lists the current Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance reports on charities and other solicting organizations that solicit nationally.  Give.org evaluates charities based on financial and management practices AND lists organizations that do not meet BBB standards.

Charity Navigator, America's premiere independent charity evaluator, works to advance a more efficient and responsive philanthropic marketplace by evaluating the financial health of America's largest charities.


Industry Surveys, Ratios, and Analysis
