Directions:  In the 74 minutes of class time we have, please complete the information in the sections listed below.  Complete all work on the separate paper provided to you by (or checked by) Dr. O’Gorman.  YOU MUST SIGN AND TURN IN this exam sheet to receive credit for the exam.  Good Luck!

 

SECTION ONE:  Short Answer (Answer five of eight questions; 30 points)

       Please write a short one-paragraph answer that defines the term you have chosen to answer, explains its importance to a discussion of Environmental Issues, and explains how this term could be seen/perceived in multiple perspectives or worldviews.

SECTION TWO:  Essay (Answer one essay for 40 Points,)

       Please write a short essay of that explains the following issue in the Environment that we have studied.  The essay is worth 40 points.

 

         The essay will ask you to interpret various aspects of topics from the readings, class handouts, and/or discussion (agriculture, global warming and/or ozone, toxicology, etc.).  Be sure to include examples from the reading and discussions in class in order to show you have mastered all the material.

 

SECTION THREE: - (All the questions listed below; 30 points)

       Please answer the questions listed below in the format called for in each question.

HINTS:

·     CHAPTERS 4,6,7,8 and 9 OF THE PES TEXT will be tested.

·     LEAVE NOTHING BLANK THIS TIME…REMEMBER THAT PARTIAL CREDIT IS ALWAYS POSSIBLE!

·     The Short Answers will come from the Key Terms at the end of each chapter of PES.

·     The Essay will ask you to consider parts of some of the larger issues we discussed

4.                  Food, Agriculture and the Revolutions in Agriculture

5.                  Chapter Six (6) dealing with conservation was not reviewed as intensely as the other chapters, and will be tested as such on the exam.

·     Be sure to look at the notes on line on the course web site.  Information listed there can help you make connections between and among topics in the PES book.  

·     Be sure to leave time to complete all the information.
