In January of 2000 I began a project at selected wood frog (Rana sylvatica) localities in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. My interest is two-fold. I am first interested in testing the effectiveness of the North American Amphibian Monitoring Protocol (NAAMP) in detecting calling wood frogs. Second, I am interested in the use of remote audio recorders ("frogloggers") to better understand both the circadian and circannual calling dynamics of wood frogs.
